Subject: Source of Ready-Made WRL Files?
I tried to get KMotion to work with my 2-axis lathe, and I had a number of problems. It turned out I was trying to turn using an end mill instead of a lathe insert.

Now I have discovered the wrl files. Question: is there a source of these files out there somewhere so I can avoid designing my own inserts? I see Art of Illusion is recommended. I'll just bet it loves Windows 10.

Also, is there a way to rotate lathe inserts or enter their tip radii in the xz-plane?

Right now I'm using some cheapo triangular Chinese inserts which are pretty small.

Hi toolhoarder,

17 3D tool models are currently provided.  They were mostly donated by a user.

Simple tools like Art of Illusion should be able to rotate and scale them fairly easily if that is critical for you.

Note the tool visualization shouldn't have any impact on the operation of the machine.

I think Art of Illusion is a great free tool and works well under W10.  But right now his site seems to be down.  The Code is available on Sourceforge:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/aoi/files/

Regards
TK
